She was born June 15, 1918 in Gentry County, Mo. The daughter of the late Louis and Bessie Eades Sorenson. She was a lifetime resident of Gentry County and the Stanberry area. She was a retired custodian for the Stanberry Postal Service and the Farmers State Bank, both of Stanberry. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Stanberry and was active in the Older Adults Transporation Service in Gentry County. She was united in marriage on December 12, 1950 to Albert J. Curtis Malson. Preceded in death by one stepson, Garry Dale Malson; one son, Thomas Sego, her parents, three brothers, Melvin, Jesse, and Freddie Sorenson, and two sisters, Edna Reed and Helen Cunningham. Survivors are two sons, Jackie Dean Sego, of the home; Steve Malson, Stanberry; one daughter, Patricia Dennis, St. Joseph; one step-son, Richard Malson, Walnut Creek, CA.; one step-daughter, Alberta Smith, Kearney, Mo.; and one sister, Mrs. Inez Nance, King City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 2, 1985 at the First Christian Church in Stanberry under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Neil Blair officiating. Wes Smith sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Old Rugged Cross" and was accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Betty Wilson. Pallbearers for the interment in High Ridge Cemetery were Gaylen, Loyd, and Tom Walker, Bob Wood, Randy Sego and James Hahn.
