All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Gentry County, Missouri, Friday, January 14, 2005: Lester Malson, 92, St. Joseph, formerly of Stanberry, died Jan. 7, 2005, at a St. Joseph nursing home. He was born Oct. 31, 1912 in Stanberry; the oldest of six children, to Andrew and Sadie (Spainhower) Malson. On Sept. 15, 1934 he was united in marriage to Alma Eythel Denham. They observed their 70th wedding anniversary in 2004. Mr. and Mrs. Malson farmed in Gentry County until 2001, at which time they moved to St. Joseph. In July of 1995, Mr. Malson was baptized, a member of the Gentry Baptist Church. He was also a member of Jonathan Lodge #321 A.F.& A.M. at Denver, MO. and Hunter Chapter #238, Order of the Eastern Star, Stanberry. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul and Lawrence Malson; sisters, Zella Johnson and Pauline Malson. Survivors include his wife, Alma Malson of the home in St. Joseph; two sons, Rex Malson and wife, Alberta, St. Joseph; Don Malson and wife, Susan, Columbia; a sister, Louise Hathaway, Albany; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Jan. 9 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel in Stanberry with burial in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
