The rites were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Charles E. Chandler, and burial was in High Ridge cemetery under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home. Other survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ina Marticke, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Leiva Quinn of Stanberry and Mrs. Berniece Pearman of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Kugler of Centralia, Kan., and Mrs. Blanche Sager of North Portal, Canada, and eight grandchildren. Mr. Marticke, son of the late Harmon August and Lena Schwalm Marticke, was born Aug. 6, 1890, in Hitchcock county, Nebraska. The family moved to the Stanberry area somewhere around 1900. Mr. Marticke and the former Miss Ina Sherry were married Sept. 18, 1912, in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Sherry, near Stanberry. The Martickes farmed in this community until April, 1946, when he retired from active farming and they moved to Stanberry to make their home. He was still very interested in the farm and apparently had been cutting some thistles at the time of his sudden death.
