Martin: Services Held Here Sunday for a Well Known Former Resident: Full military honors were provided here Sunday for Marvin A. Martin, 57 years old, who died last Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Kansas City, Kan. The military burial rites were under the direction of the members of the Raymond Sager Post of the American Legion in Stanberry. Martin, who had lived here all his life until 1942, was for many years, employed as a meat cutter at the Tibbett's grocery in the city. He was born in the Stanberry area and spent most of his life in Stanberry. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the First Christian church here under the direction of Rev. Charles R. Hagee, church pastor. Interment was in the High Ridge cemetery. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis R. Martin, he was born February 10, 1895. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of the Latter Day Saints, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Raymond Sager Legion post here. Mr. Martin had been in poor (sic) for some time. He died while a patient at the St. Margaret's hospital at Kansas City, Kan. He was a resident of Kansas City, Kan., and before his retirement, served in the inspection department of the Wilson Packing Co. at Kansas City. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Mary Martin, who lives at the Graves rest home here; his wife, Mrs. Elsie Cooper Martin, of the home; five step- children; three brothers, Ben Martin of St. Joseph, Leslie Martin of Kansas City, Mo., and Carl Martin of Kansas City, Kan. One brother, Fred Martin preceded him in death. Mr. Martin also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Frank Rucker of this city; Mrs. Henry Boughan of Dowagic, Mich., and Mrs. J. R. Kliesling of near Houston, Tex. Funeral services were under the direction of the Johnson mortuary of this city.
