All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Gentry County, Missouri, Friday, January 7, 2000: Mamie Mattson, 94, Stanberry, died Jan. 3, 2000, at a Stanberry health-care center. Born Dec. 7, 1905, near Stanberry, Mrs. Mattson was a graduate of Stanberry high school and Northwest Mo. State Teachers College in Maryville. She was also a rural school teacher. Mrs. Mattson was a member of First Christian Church and Mount Zion Church near Stanberry and West Sager Community Club. On April 28, 1932, she married Raymond W. Mattson in Albany. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, Maude Wampler, Mabel McWharter, Elsie Stockton, Olie Conway and Irene Murphy; and five brothers, Carl, Earnest, Dale, Roy and Jessie. Survivors include a son, Ervin Mattson, Stanberry; a daughter, Vera Sherry, Ravenwood; nine grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. Funeral Services were held on Jan. 5 at the First Christian Church, with burial in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. Arrangements were handled by the Johnson Funeral Home.
