She was born Nov. 23, 1907 in Fairport; the daughter of William and Blanche Francis Eggleston Sherard. She attended King City high school and was valedictorian of her class. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Smith McCammon, on Easter Sunday, April 8, 1928 at Savannah. They established their home and business in King City and resided in the community until their deaths. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lee McCammon (Robert E.) Williams, Bloomington, IL., and a son, Robert Sherard (Patricia Ann Forbes) McCammon, St. Joseph; five grandchildren, Jennifer Lee Williams (Paul K.) Jensen, Duluth, GA.; Steven Robert (Sara E. Klug) Williams, Bloomington, IL.; William Robert (Shelly Brashears) McCammon, St. Joseph; Michele Kathleen McCammon (Scott) Brashears, St. Joseph and Eric McCammon (Elizabeth "Betsy" Rockaway) Williams, Madison, WI.; five great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Michele Brashears, Margaret Lee "Maggie" Jensen, Paul Michael Jensen, Robert William "Robbie" McCammon and Audrey Elizabeth Williams and one niece, Judee McCammon (Anthony) Mabry, Sedalia. She was a member and past matron of the former King City Chapter, OES and a charter member of the "MM" Club of King City. She had been a member of the King City Presbyterian Church for over 75 years. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband in the family business, as a bookkeeper. She was an eager volunteer for church, school, Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs, when her children were younger. Funeral services were held on July 9 at Gibson Funeral Home in King City, conducted by Rev. Dale O'Connell. Music was provided by Betty Jo Howitt, organist and Sara Williams, vocalist, Pallbearers were Randall Swan, Bob Ball, Raymond Wheatley, Vernon Smith, Lloyd Darnell and Gary Culver. Interment was in the King City cemetery, Memorial donations may be given to the King City Presbyterian Church.
