C. McCoy, who died at the home of her son, Claude, in St. Joseph last Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock. The service was in charge of the Rev. N. O. Rogers and was held at the Christian Church. The following obituary has been furnished this office: Bertha Leona Drinkard was born at New Cambria, Mo., May 5, 1878, and died at the home of her son, Claude, in St. Joseph, Mo., March 16, 1932, at the age of 53 years, 10 months and 11 days. She was married April 19, 1898 to Howard Clemont McCoy, who preceded her in death. Seven children were born to them, six of whom survive. They are Dr. Howard, of Albany, Mo.; Claude of St. Joseph; Mrs. Alice Bishop, St. Joseph; Mrs. Isabel Bishop, King City; Elizabeth Ann and Ora Margaret of St. Joseph. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Clyde Butterbaugh and four grandchildren. She came with her parents to Stanberry about 40 years ago, and made this her home until a few years ago, when she went to St. Joseph, where she had since lived. As a young woman she united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, then about ten or 12 years ago she was baptized into the First Christian Church of Stanberry, and has maintained this relationship ever since. Following the funeral services, interment was in the High Ridge Cemetery. The funeral was in charge of the Pennington Undertaking Co.
