NEWS-PRESS; WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2005; B3 Frank McDaniel 1918-2005; WICHITA, Kan. - Frank McDaniel, 86, of Wichita, formerly of Albany, Mo., passed away Aug. 29, 2005, in Wichita. Frank, the son of Milton B. and Flora Elizabeth (Price) McDaniel, was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Bethany, Mo. On Jan. l, 1948, Frank married Doris Mount. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9,1991. He also was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George; and sister, Lucille Thompson. Frank was a World War II Army veteran. He received five Bronze stars. He landed on Normandy Beach and his last major battle was the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Cessna Aircraft as a sheet metal assembler. Survivors: brother, Gene McDaniel and wife, Lucy, of Bristow, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at l p.m. Thursday, Sept. l, at the Roberson- Polley Chapel, Albany. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Burial: Grandview Cemetery, Albany, with military rites under the auspices of American Legion Post No. 106, VFW Post No. 5329 of Albany; American Legion Post No. 216; VFW Post No. 2176 of Bethany.
