Born in Stanberry on Nov. 20, 1930, Mr. Miller was a Korean War Marine Corps veteran. He worked as a mechanic at Carnation Can in St. Joseph until retiring in 1985. Mr. Miller was a member of Star Chapel United Methodist Church northwest of King City. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post #247 of Omaha, NE.; and the Pony Express American Legion Post #359 of St. Joseph. On April 15, 1956, he married Daisy Fair. She survives at the home in Union Star. Additional survivors include three daughters, Janet Trevino, Omaha, ND.; Lila Shippy, Independence and Rose Brink, Edwardsville, KS.; three sons, Robert Miller and David Miller, St. Joseph and Mike Miller, Savannah; two sisters, Macle Spicer, Guilford and Marjorie Cooper, Stanberry; one brother, Lloyd Miller, Stanberry; 13 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Sadie (Boatright) Miller; two sisters, Alice Spainhower and Dixie Miller and one brother, James Miller. Funeral services were held on July 14 at Star Chapel United Methodist Church under the direction of Roberson-Polley Chapel in Stanberry. Burial was in High Ridge Cemetery with military rites by the King City American Legion Post #132.
