Mrs. John Murry, a resident of Stanberry and vicinity for 57 years, died at 1:50 o'clock Sunday morning at her home here. Mrs. Murry had suffered a stroke two weeks ago and had remained in critical condition from that time. She and her husband had been closely identified with the gardening and greenhouse business here for many years. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey, she was born and reared near Bolckow, MO., and was 86 years old at the time of her death. She was married to Mr. Murry Apr. 5, 1886. For a time after their marriage they farmed near Bolckow, and withe the exception of seven years spent in the states of Washington and Oregon, they had been residents of this vicinity. It was in 1895 that they came to Stanberry and for 24 years were market gardeners near the southeast city limits of Stanberry. At that time she had her husband moved to Stanberry and established the Murry greenhouse at the site of their present home. Throughout their married life, Mrs. Murry was very active in assisting her husband in his gardening and green house work. She is survived by her husband of the home, two sons, Earl Murry, Stanberry's city marshal, and Ed Murry of Moberly, one brother, Fred Bailey of Stanberry, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held for her at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Stanberry Christian church, conducted by the Rev. Chas. R. Hagee. Burial was in the High Ridge cemetery. The funeral services were under the direction of the Phillips Mortuary.
