The rites were conducted by the Rev. Lewis Clark, the Rev. Richard M. Horton, Pastor of the local Methodist church, and the Raymond Sager American Legion post of Stanberry. Burial was in the High Ridge cemetery under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home. The young many, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Osborn of Stanberry, was killed as he was returning to his home in Faucett from his work at the Continental Can Co. in St. Joseph. The state patrol reported that Osborn's south-bound car ran off the right side of the highway and struck a bridge pier where Route O crosses the interstate highway No. 29. He was thrown from the demolished car, suffered multiple broken bones and head injuries and died at the scene of the accident, according to the officers who said Osborn apparently went to sleep. Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Mrs. Laveda Ann Osborn, of the home, his 7-month-old son, Terry, of the home and two brother, Charles Osborn, Stanberry, and Darrell (Mickey) Osborn, Agency, Mo. Young Osborn was born Dec. 27, 1937, in Stanberry. He was graduated from the Stanberry R-II high school in May, 1955, and entered the army the following September. A paratrooper, he was stationed at Ft. Belvoir, Va., Ft. Bragg, N.C. and in Greenland for six months. He was discharged from the service in April, 1960, after serving almost five years. He and the former Miss Laveda Ann McCrary, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert McCrary, were united in marriage on May 27, 1961, at Jamesport, Mo. They made their home in Stanberry until moving to Faucett about three months ago. He had been employed at the Dannen Mills in St. Joseph before going to work for the Continental Can Co.
