All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Friday, December 1, 2000: Robert "Bob" Parsons, 62, Stanberry, died Nov. 24, 2000, at a Kansas City hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Mound City. Mr. Parsons, a retired farmer and Army veteran, owned and operated Parsons Used Cars & Quick Shop in Stanberry. He had served as a deputy sheriff in Los Angeles, CA., before moving to Stanberry. He was a member of the Raymond Sager American Legion Post No. 260, Stanberry. On July 20, 1957, he married the former Carolyn Steward. She survives at the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Steve Parsons, Stanberry and David Parsons, Houston, TX.; a daughter, Pam Hailey, Stanberry; two brothers, Paul Parsons, Las Vegas, NE. and Richard Parsons, Marysville, WA.; three sisters, Darlene Harris and Charlene Masters, St. Joseph and Betty Robinson, Temple, TX. and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Clarice (Hughes) Parsons and a brother, Charles Parsons. Funeral services were held Nov. 28 at First Christian Church, with burial in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
