     The Tri-County News, Gentry County Missouri, Friday, February 6, 2004:
     William Rex Pickerel, 68, Stanberry, died Jan. 31, 2004, at a St. Joseph
     hospital.

     Born June 2, 1935 in Stanberry, he was the son of William Chilton and Lois
     Margaret (Shisler) Pickerel.  He was preceded in death by his father.

     William retired from the U.S. Air Force.  He was a member of St. Peter's
     Catholic Church in Stanberry.

     Survivors include five sons, Stephen Mayhugh, Livermore, CA.; Patrick and
     Randall Pickerel, both of Pleasanton, CA.; David Pickerel, St. Louis;
     Michael Pickerel, Ypsilanti, MI.; a daughter, Suzanne Carpenter, Brentwood,
     CA.; his mother, Lois Margaret Pickerel, Stanberry; a brother, James
     Pickerel, St. Joseph; his companion, Helen Gribble, St. Joseph and seven
     grandchildren.

     Mass of Christian burial was held on Feb. 4 at St. Peter's Catholic Church
     with burial in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
