The Stanberry Headlight, Thursday, July 26, 1945: Marvin M. Pratt, 73 years old, well known retired farmer of Albany, died last Saturday afternoon at his home there. Mr. Pratt suffered a stroke early that morning and remained in serious condition through the day. A second stroke late in the afternoon proved fatal. He was a brother of Mrs. J. G. Connolly, of Stanberry. Mr. Pratt is survived by his wife and three children, who are: Mrs. Ward Hatheway, of Topeka, Kan., Mrs. R. G. Reid, of St. Joseph, and Donald Pratt, who is serving in the Army in New Guinea. Besides the sister, there are two brothers, Wa?? Pratt, of St. Joseph, and H. L. Pratt of Buffalo, Wyo. There are two granddaughters and a wide circle of friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Brooks funeral home in Albany, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Long, pastor of the Methodist church at Albany. Interment was in the Grandview cemetery.
