Mrs. A.C. Redden, 47-year-old Stanberry resident died Thursday. She had received a blood transfusion once every two weeks since September 1947. All but two transfusions were given by members of her family. She formerly lived at Worth and Alanthus, Mo., and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Robert Redden, Stanberry, Ronald of the home, and John C. Redden, Los Angeles, Cal., five daughters, Mrs. W.F. Chapman, Sommers, Wis., Mrs. J.L. Riggle, Springfield, Mo.,and Misses Shirley, Katherine and Bonnie Redden, all of the home; four brothers, Marion and Charles Dannar, both of Grant City, Mo., and Dillard and John Dannar, both of Worth, Mo., and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Gabrill, Gentry, Mrs. Gloe Meek, St. Joseph, and Mrs. Raymond Trump, Parnell, Mo. The body is at the Johnson mortuary, Stanberry. *** Obituary Source: probably Stanberry newspaper Mrs. A.C. Redden Died Last Week Stanberry Woman Kept Alive Many Months by Blood Transfusions. Funeral Held Sunday Afternoon. Mrs. A.C. Redden, a resident of Stanberry for 13 years, died at her home in east Stanberry at 7:30 o'clock last Thursday morning. Her death ended a series of blood tranfusions that had continued over a period of many months. Mrs. Redden mad a trip to the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minn., and as a result of that trip she was placed on a program of regular blood transfusions. Since Aug. 15, 1947, she has received a blood transfusion on an average of one every two weeks. All the blood transfusions, except three, were given by members of her family, including her immediate family, brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces. At the time of her death, those of her relatives whose blood types were suitable were in their third round of blood donations. Mrs. Redden, who would have been 47 years old on March 23, had suffered from a rare blood stream infection for four years. She had been confined to her bed the past two years. Thoughout her entire illness, her family had been devoted in its care. She had been taken to various clinics and hospitals for examination and for treatment, but nothing seemed to give her any permanent relief. She was active in the organization and in the work of the Assembly of God church here and after the church discontinued services here and after a church was started at King City, she took her membership there. She was always active in the church as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Redden was teh daughter of teh late John Dannar and was born on March 23, 1902, near Worth, Mo. She grew to young womanhood on a farm in that section and was married on Oct. 5, 1921, to Mr. Redden. They lived at various times in the Worth and Alanthus vicinities and came to Stanberry in 1936. Stanberry had since been their home. She is survived by the husband, of the home and by three sons and five daughters. They are: Robert, of Stanberry, Ronald, of the home, John C., of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. W.F. Chapman, of Somers, Wis., Mrs. J.L. Riggle, of Springfield, Mo., and Misses Shirley, Katherine, adn Bonnie Redden, of the home. Mrs. Redden also is survived by four brothers and three sister, who are: Marion and Chas. Dannar, of Grant City, and Dillard and John Dannar, of Worth, Mrs. Anna Gabriel, of Gentry, Mrs. Gloe Meek, of St. Joseph, and Mrs. Raymond Trump, of Parnell. Beside these relatives, she is survived by six grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Two children preceded her in death. Pauline died when one year old and Marion died when he was 4 years old. Funeral services were held here on Sunday afternoon at the Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Baldwin, pastor of the King City Assembly of God church. Interment was in the High Ridge cemetery.
