All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Stanberry Headlight; Gentry County Missouri; Thursday, February 21, 1957: Rites for Mrs. Hattie Rainey: Final services were held last Friday afternoon at the Stanberry Baptist church for Mrs. Hattie Bessie Rainey, 87, who was taken by death last Wednesday afternoon at her home in Stanberry. The rites were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. R. T. Ware, and burial was in the High Ridge cemetery, under the direction of the Phillips Mortuary, Stanberry. Survivors of the life-long resident of Gentry county include four daughters, Mrs. Inez Nance, King City; Mrs. Helen Cunningham and Mrs. Edna Reed, both of Kansas City, and Mrs. Edith Malson, Stanberry; two sons, Jesse Sorenson, Imogene, Ia., and Fred Sorenson, Kansas City; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Rainey, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Tyre Eads, was born July 9, 1882, in Gentry county. She and Louis Sorenson of Stanberry were married Mar. 1, 1900. He preceded her in death in May, 1932. Mrs. Sorenson and Horace B. Rainey were married in February, 1947, and Mr. Rainey was taken by death in December, 1955.
