All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Gentry County Missouri, Friday, November 14, 2003: Raymond Lloyd Reynolds, Sr., 90, Stanberry, died Nov. 9, 2003, at Pine View Manor in Stanberry. Born Aug. 15, 1913, in Amity; he was the son of Napoleon Bonaparte and Myrtle (Burke) Reynolds. Raymond was raised in DeKalb County area; moving to Stanberry on Oct. 10, 1932 and living in the area for the rest of his life. Mr. Reynolds worded as a farm hand and farmer; gas station operator and general laborer for the Big 4 Hardware Co., before starting his own plumbing business. He was a member of the Stanberry First Christian Church and enjoyed camping, fishing and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Beryl, Ivan, Alvie and Marvin Reynolds; sisters, Lola Steiner, Lila Stevenson, Elizabeth Tiffany and granddaughters, Mary Gayla and Carla Slagle. On March 2, 1936 he was united in marriage to Goldie Pauline Lewis in Amity. She survives at the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Imogene Slagle and husband, Roy, Gladstone; a son, Raymond Lloyd Reynolds, Jr. and wife, Marjorie, Corning, IA.; five grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jess Stevenson, Lakeport, CA.; Levain Lewis and wife Twilla, Cosby; sister- in-law, Maxine Francis and husband, Roland, Stewartsville. Funeral services were held on Nov. 12 at Roberson-Polley Chapel with burial in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stanberry First Christian Church.
