Rice, 77, died July 18, 2000, at a St. Joseph hospital. Born May 10, 1923, at Gentry, she was a homemaker, and a lifelong resident of Gentry and Worth Counties. She attended Grant City schools, the Grant City Christian Church and the Gentry Baptist Church, and was a member of the Gentry County Bowling Association, and formerly served on the board of the Opportunity Workshop of Gentry County, of which she was former vice-president. In 1954 she married Carl D. Rice. He preceded her in death in 1989. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Annette Lind; three brothers Calvin, Ralph Jr. and Max Pickering; and two grandchildren. Surviving is a son, Bill Harris, Grant City; a stepson, Bob Rice, Stewartsville; a daughter, Marjorie L. Anderson, Albany; a sister, Bonnie Baldwin, Ravenwood; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were July 22, 2000, with burial at High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
