All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Tri-County News, Friday, October 9, 1992, page 14: Gladys Marie Rodgers, 77, of Macon and formerly of Stanberry, died Sept. 23, 1992 at a hospital in Columbia. Mrs. Rodgers was born near King City and attended school in the Empire and King City areas. She was a graduate of Casters Beauty Academy in St. Joseph. She was a member of the Church of God in Stanberry and Westport Rebekah Lodge #316 of Kansas City. In 1931 she married Burton Rodgers. He survives at the home. Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Wid Smith and two sisters, Strausie May and Mary York. Additional survivors include a son, Jim Rodgers of Corsicana, Tex.; a daughter, Kathleen Smith of Jacksonville, Mo.; a brother, Clayton Bonham of King City; two sisters, Rosa Lee Peyton of Albany, Ohio and Genevieve Pettry of King City; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services and burial were held in Stanberry on Sept. 25. (NOTE: High Ridge Cemetery)
