All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Stanberry Headlight; Thursday, January 31, 1985: Nelle Ann O'Neale Shisler, 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Indian Hills Health Care Center in Cameron, Mo., where she had been a resident since September of 1984. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Hattie Simpson O'Neale, born September 26, 1890 near King city, Mo. She grew up in the Island City community and moved with her family to Stanberry in the early 1900's. In 1907 she became a member of the First Christian Church in Stanberry. Nelle was united in marriage to Charles Roy Shisler March 8, 1914 at Maryville, Mo. They resided in Stanberry until May of 1939, when they moved to Meeker, Colo. They made their home in Colorado for 15 years before returning to Stanberry in 1954. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Mrs. Gertie Gillett. Her survivors include several nieces nad nephews, one of whom, Eugene Gillett of Gladstone, Mo., has faithfully attended to her care during the several years that she has been confined to nursing homes; cousins, a sister-in-law, and a host of friends and loved ones. Funeral Services were held Friday, Jan. 25 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Stanberry, the Rev. Russell Evans officiating. Burial was in High Ridge Cemetery at Stanberry.
