She was one of a family of six children; in her death they are equally divided, three children and the father are deceased, three children and the mother survive. Ann Elizabeth was married to Albert Walter Smith June 26, 1906. Brother and Sister Stein were members of the Lutheran church and Lizzie - as her friends called her - was baptized in infancy, afterwards uniting with the Methodist Episcopal church here. After her marriage she with her husband attended the Christian church. Raised in this community her friends are legion, for to know her was to have in her a friend. She was a kind and obedient daughter, a faithful wife, a good woman. She trusted in Christ as her Savior and was in constant prayer at the last. The funeral service was conducted from the home, where she died, by Rev. Chas. H. Brott, pastor of the Methodist church, assisted by Rev. J. N. Darnell, Pastor of the Christian church, Friday, March 31. Burial in the High Ridge cemetery.
