The Tri-County News, Gentry County Missouri, Friday, May 11, 2001:
Verda B. Smith, 91, died April 28, 2001, at Gentry County Memorial Hospital.

     She was born March 1, 1910, north of Stanberry.

     A graduate of Stanberry High School, she had worked at a drug store.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Smith; three brothers,
     Charlie, Gene and Clyde Reece; a sister, Cori Files Rimel; a nephew, and
     two nieces.

     Surviving is four sisters, Lillie Wagers, Stanberry, Cloretta Schisler,
     Marysville, KS., Wilma Lee Quinn, Laurelm, MD.; and Gladys Jones,
     Johnstown, OH.; and 24 nieces and nephews.

     Graveside services and burial were May 7, 2001, at High Ridge Cemetery,
     Stanberry.
