His death was due to heart trouble and to a complication of diseases. Mr. Sorenson had been in poor health for the past few months, but it was not realized his condition was so serious. The following obituary has been furnished this office: Lewis Nelson Sorenson, son of Peter and Mary Sorenson, was born in Denmark, September 13, 1876, and passed away at his home in Stanberry, Mo., May 4, 1932, at the age of 55 years, seven months and 21 days. He came with his parents to America when he was but four years of age, and settled on a farm near Stanberry. He had lived in this vicinity ever since. He was married to Miss Hattie Bess Eades on March 1, 1900, and 10 children were born to their union, three of whom are deceased, two having died in infancy and one son at the age of 20. Mr. Sorenson was brought up in the Lutheran faith and never transferred his membership to any other church. He was a farmer until about five years ago, when he moved into Stanberry. He is survived by his wife, his aged mother, seven children, as follow: Jesse of Stanberry; Edmund of Eskridge, Kan., Mrs. Inez Nance and Mrs. Edna Reed of Stanberry; Helen, Edith and Freddy, at home; two brothers, Christopher of Stanberry and Henry of Petersburg, IL.; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Swearingen of Morrison, Okla.; Mrs. Sam Mattson of Bedison, Mo., and Mrs. Claude David of Albany. There are also three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted last Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the First Christian Church by the Rev. N. O. Rogers. Burial was at the High Ridge Cemetery. The funeral was in charge of the Pennington Undertaking Co.
