The daughter of the late Louis Franklin and Effie Lou Emma (Bridges) Dannar, she was born August 20, 1921 at New Hampton. A member of New Castle Christian Church, McFall, she was a bookkeeper for the cap factory in Stanberry, and a baby sitter in her home. On May 16, 1960 she married Robert Steinman. He survives of the home in Stanberry. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Smith; one step-son, Ronald Clair Steinman; two grandsons; one great- granddaughter; three brothers; and one sister. Additional survivors are three sons, James D. Smith, Kansas City, Jerry L. Smith, Stillwater, OK., LaVerne "Butch" Smith, Brownville, NE.; one daughter, Effie L. Harris, Smithville; two step-daughters, Lois Ann Brauer, Bridgewater, NJ., and Linda Sue Bounds, Albany; one step-son, Frankie D. Steinman, Queen Creek, AZ.; one sister, Juanita Mitchell, Lincoln, NE.; 16 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were November 26, 2000, under the direction of Roberson- Polley Chapel, Stanberry, with burial at High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry.
