Talmadge, 81, Stanberry, died June 11, 2003, at his home. Mr. Talmadge was born Sept. 16, 1921, near Stanberry; the son of Warren and Ola Howard Talmadge. He attended and graduated from Darlington high school. Mr. Talmadge served his country for three years in the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge. He retired as vice-president of the Farmers State Bank in Stanberry. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Stanberry; the Stanberry American Legion Post and the Stanberry Golf Club. He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Talmadge and a sister, Marguerite Burr. On Feb. 2, 1947, he married Ruby Mae Alldredge, she survives at the home. Additional survivors include a son, Kenny Talmadge and wife, Kim, Maryville; a daughter, Lynna Sarver and husband, Tim, St. Joseph; a brother, Max Talmadge, Stanberry; sisters, Evelyn Cobb and Janie Buckridge, Stanberry; four grandchildren, Phil Sarver, St. Joseph; Klinton, Klayton and Kalvin Talmadge, Maryville and two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Jackson Sarver. Funeral services were held on June 14 at First Baptist Church, with burial in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. Arrangements were handled by Johnson Funeral Home.
