All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm Submitted by: Don Raymond The Stanberry Headlight, Gentry County Missouri, Thursday, March 29, 1951: Mrs. James Tatum buried Tuesday: Life-Long Resident of this Area Died Saturday Night at Home: Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. James L. Tatum, 68, who died Saturday night at her home here. A life-long resident of this community, Mrs. Tatum died of complications. Services were conducted at her home at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Don Stanley, pastor of the Stanberry Baptist church. Burial was in the Cooper cemetery, southwest of the city. She is survived by her husband, of the home; two sons, Emmett and Talbert (Tolbert) Hatheway; and two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Herd of Kansas City and Mrs. Ora Flelts of Parkville, Mo. She also leaves two brothers, Hershel Hawkins of California and Ernest Hawkins of Burlington, Kan. and 20 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Mrs. Tatum was member of the Stanberry Baptist church. Hathaway before 1900, three children, Emmit, Myrthe & Tolbert - married second to Green B. Cogdill by 1908 and had Lora G. Cogdill - subsequently married James L. Tatum, no known children.
