Her parents moved to Indiana in her early childhood, where she was reared and spent a good many years of her life. Nov. 22, 1856, she was married to David L. Vance, who still survives her. A few more days would have completed a union of 55 years. Ten children were born to here, five dying in infancy and five growing to man and womanhood, of whom three are living, Lewis B., of Fullerton, Calif., Wm. A. and Miss Stella, of Kansas City, Mo. She joined church in her early womanhood and at the time of her death was a member of Howard Memorial M. E. church of Kansas City. As the family reside for many years in Stanberry, prior to moving to Kansas City, her remains were brought here for burial and the funeral was conducted at the David Crickette home, Sunday at 3 o'clock p. m. Mr. and Mrs. Crickette being old-time friends of the family. Rev. Chas. H. Brott, pastor of the Methodist church, delivered the discourse. Interment at High Ridge cemetery. Among the beautiful floral offerings were two from the Wabash and Rock Island Railroad Companies, of which Will and Miss Stella are employees.
