She was married to Wm. VanVactor of the 7th Missouri Cavalry May 25, 1875. To this union three children were born - George, Bertha and Lora. George and Bertha are the only surviving ones of the family. She, with her children, came to Oklahoma in March, 1901, and settled on her claim in Caddo county, near Binger. She united with the Baptist church at Wilson school house in Gentry county, Mo., in the early 70's, remaining a believer in the teachings of the church to the time of her death, always trying to show her faith by her works. She was a good mother, taking the place of both father and mother to her children. Her chief thought was for the welfare of her son, George, her daughter, Bertha, and her two grandchildren, Fay and Ruby Fern. She died July 11, 1911, at 12:20 a. m., at her home near Binger, of apoplexy, having been sick only about 12 hours. Rev. W. R. Long preached the sermon at the family home, at 8 o'clock, Wednesday morning, to the relatives, neighbors and friends. The body was accompanied to this city by her son, George, and funeral services were conducted at the Undertaking rooms of John Pennington Friday by the Rev. Harris and the remains laid to rest in High Ridge cemetery.
