He was born Sept. 10, 1917, the son of John William and Hettie Elizabeth Law Walton, near Stanberry. Mr. Walton was a Stanberry high school graduate. Most of his adult life was spent in California where he lived in Modesto, San Francisco and Sacramento. During this tiem he worked as an acoustical tile installation specialist and also farmed and raised horses. He had lived in the Lebanon area for the last 18 years. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith and was a member of the Carpenters Union #586 in Sacramento, CA. Mr. Walton was united in marriage to Rachel Sarah Rankin on Sept. 7, 1956. She survives at the home. Additional survivors include a son, Gary Walton and wife, Lee, a grandson, Cory Walton and wife, Traci, and a great- granddaughter, Rachael Walton, all of Rodeo, CA.; a brother, Orlo Walton, Garden City, MO.; a sister, Naomi Huston, Houston, MO.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held on July 21 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Graveside services and burial were held on July 22 at High Ridge Cemetery in Stanberry.
