Walton, 79, Oklahoma City, formerly of Kansas City, KS., passed away, Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at his home in Oklahoma. Robert was born on Jan. 23, 1926 in Stanberry, MO. He was the son of George Myrick and Neola J (Wilson) Walton. He was a millwright, working at Sunflower Ammunition Plant and the Owens Corning Fiberglass Plant in Kansas City, MO., before retiring. His lifelong hobby was building private airplanes and passenger cars. He was an active member of several religious organizations and was a WWII Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Judge Herbert Walton, Dr. Philip Walton and George E. Walton; and a sister, Glenna Beach. Survivors; two sons, Dr. Robert I. Walton, and wife, Dr. Elizabeth Walton, Chicago, IL.; and George C. Walton and wife, Rebecca, Alameda, CA.; two daughters, Neola Mayer, and husband, Charles, Concord, CA.; and Deborah Jones, Quincy, CA.; three sisters, Virginia Slagle, Stanberry; Betty Holman, King City, MO.; and Mary Francis Lyerla, Olathe, KS.; a brother, Dr. W. Dean Walton, Lenexa, KS.; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Stanberry. Burial: High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the funeral chapel. There is no scheduled family visitation.
