News-Press; Monday, February 13, 2006 Dale H. West 1924-2006; STANBERRY, Mo. - Dale H. West, 81, of Stanberry, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at his home. Born June 9, 1924, in Stanberry, he was the son of L.V. and Clara (Witham) West. On April 13, 1944, he married Doris Summers in Atchison, Kan. She preceded him in death May 8, 1996. He was also preceded in death by his son, David M.; and his parents. Dale was a World War II Army Veteran, receiving four bronze stars in the European Theater of Operations. Dale was a retired contractor and lumberman. He served as alderman from 1958 to 1964 and as Mayor of Stanberry. He also served two years on the Stanberry RII School Board. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Stanberry and a member of the Raymond Sager American Legion Post No. 260 of Stanberry. On Aug. 24, 1996, he married Ivalou Heyde of Stanberry. She survives of the home. He is also survived by his son, Dwight E. West, Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jason M. West, Columbus, Ohio, and Travis R. West, Raymore, Mo.; two sisters, Doris Melton, Independence, Mo., and Editha Ann Petty, Dallas, Texas; two step-sons, Tom and Kevin Heyde, Stanberry; four step- daughters, Mary Cameron, Karen Lipanovich, and Debbie Elder all of St. Joseph, and Kathy Wilkinson, Clarksdale, Mo. Dale lived out his life in retirement surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Stanberry First Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Stanberry, where friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial: High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, with military rites.
