"Bill" Widener, 61, Stanberry, died March 1, 2000, at Gentry County Memorial Hospital in Albany. Mr. Widener had owned and operated a trucking business. He also served in the Navy for four years. Born in Lenoir, NC., on April 30, 1938, he had spent most of his life in Stanberry. He was of the Methodist faith. On May 2, 1959, he married Carolyn G. Colvin in Reno, NV. She survives at the home. Additional survivors include three sons, Steve, Des Moines, IA.; Ronny and Randy, both of St. Joseph; a daughter, Becky Brennan, St. Joseph; a brother, Leonard, NC.; a step-brother, Lewis, Virginia; to sisters, Betty Hilton and Ella M. Kirby, both of North Carolina and eight grandchildren. Memorial services were held March 5 at the Johnson Funeral Home in Stanberry. The body has been cremated.
