Wolford, 74, King City, died June 12, 2003, at her home in King City. Mrs. Wolford was born April 15, 1929 in Helena; the daughter of Basil and Lois Whorton. She was raised in Union Star and graduated from Union Star high school in 1947. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in King City. Mrs. Wolford was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Don Whorton, and a grandson, Jake Redman. On April 25, 1948, she married William E. Wolford in King City. He survives at the home. Additional survivors include a son, Rudy Wolford, and wife, Nanette, Gower; a daughter, Judy Redman, and husband, John, Amity; five grandchildren, Joe Redman, Josh Redman and wife, Amy; Amy Wolford, Annie Wolford and Alex Wolford; a great-grandson, Jacob Redman; a brother, Jay Whorton, St. Joseph and a sister, Dixie Wood, Savannah. Family visitation was held on Friday evening, June 13, at Gibson Funeral Home in King City. The body has been cremated, with a private family graveside service and inurnment to be held later at the King City Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Hands of Hope Hospice or the Jake Redman Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Gibson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 552, King City, MO. 64463.
