Biographical Sketch of Caleb W. Dawley, Springfield, Greene County, MO >From "History of Greene County, Missouri," St. Louis: Western Historical Company, 1883. ********************************************************************** This gentleman is the son of James and Nannie H. (Ambrose) Dawley, and was born April 2, 1859 in Covington, Kentucky. His parents moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1867. He received his education at Kansas City, William Jewell College, and at the State University at Columbia, graduating in the class of 1879. He then returned home and taught school at Belton, Cass county, for a year. Here he met the lady whom he married December 23, 1881. She was Miss Lula Boyer. He and his wife are both members of the Baptist church. He came to Springfield in May, 1881, where he has since been superintendent of the Springfield Gas-Light Company. His parents are living upon a farm near Kansas City.
