Biographical Sketch of John W. Stewart, Greene County, Missouri, North Springfield >From "History of Greene County, Missouri," St. Louis: Western Historical Company, 1883. ********************************************************************** This gentleman is the son of A. D. and Mary C. Stewart, and was born in Grant County, Kentucky, June 8th, 1859. In 1876 he commenced braking upon the St. Louis and San Francisco railway, and upon the 26th of Feb- ruary, 1880, he was promoted to conductor, and has run a train ever since. Mr. Stewart was married September 11th, 1881, to Miss Emma Knight, of North Springfield. Their union has been blest with one child, born January 31st, 1883.
