Biographical Sketch of William N. Smith, Greene County, Missouri, Springfield >From "History of Greene County, Missouri," St. Louis: Western Historical Company, 1883. ********************************************************************** Mr. Smith is a son of P. R. Smith, and a grandson of William B. Logan, and Gen. Nick R. Smith. He was born at Springfield, Mo., June 28, 1854. He was educated at Springfield, and for four years was book keeper for Waldo C. Booth, one of the largest hardware dealers of Springfield. Since then he has kept books for some of the leading mercantile firms of the city. He was married January 19, 1879, to Miss Seldie Dyer, a niece of Col. D. P. Dyer, of St. Louis, Missouri.
