Biographical Sketch of William White (deceased), Greene County, Missouri, Campbell Township >From "History of Greene County, Missouri," St. Louis: Western Historical Company, 1883. ********************************************************************** Mr. White was born in Giles county, Tennessee, October 18th, 1816. He grew to manhood in his native State, and followed farming as an avoca- tion all his life. He moved to Greene county, Missouri, in 1853. Mr. White was married January 23rd, 1839, to Margaret Fry, also a native of Giles county, Tennessee. Mr. Whate was for many years a member of the Christian church, and one of the first to organize a class in his neighborhood. He died January 23rd, 1858, leaving five children, viz.: J. Frank, Margaret J., now the wife of J. E. Phelps; Mary C., now the wife of F. W. Norman; J. T. and Sallie M., now Mrs. E. M.
