She was a charter member of Columbus Street Baptist Church in Waco. She lived at 1302 North Thirteenth Street in Waco. The following is her obituary from the Waco News-Tribune on November 28, 1926, p. 14: EVANS, MISS LIZZIE Miss Lizzie Evans, 70, died at her home, 1302 North Thirteenth street, at 6 p.m. yesterday. Miss Evans was born in Springfield, Mo., July 14, 1856 and moved to Texas as a small child. She first settled in Speegleville in 1862. She has been a resident of Waco for the past 40 years. She was a charter member of the Columbus Street Baptist church. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. M. [Maria] E.[Evans] Sleeper, and eight nephews and nieces. Her brother, the late Charles Evans, died about five months ago. Funeral services will be conducted from the family home, 1302 North Thirteenth street, by Rev. F. B. Thorn of the Columbus Avenue Baptist church at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery. Pallbearers will be Judge William Sleeper, Luke McKee, Weston Rucker, Eugene Standefer, Arthur Fiser of Lorena, and K. J. Owen.
