BONHAM BIOGRAPHIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BONHAM, Marcus L. - b: 1836 Blount Co, TN source: 1883 History of Henry Missouri , National Historical Co. - page: 500 residence: Clinton Marcus L. Bonham, proprietor of Oak Hill Nursery, was born in Blount County, Tennessee, February 20, 1836. At the age of four years he was taken by the family to Henry County, Indiana, where he was reared and received his education, following from his twentieth year the occupation of school teaching. This profession he continued for five years, and about the year 1860 he became engaged in the photographic business. For two years he gave his attention to this art, then resuming his farming operations, till March, 1866, at which time he moved to Carroll County, Missouri. After residing there for two years he went to Newton County, and in one year, or the spring of 1869, came to Henry County and established the present Oak Hill Nursery. He has twenty-one acres of land well adapted for his business, and he raises all varieties of trees, plants, etc., which thrive in this locality, and he supplies mostly our home market. Mr. Bonham was married November 23, 1862, to Miss Margaret Hendricks, a native of Indiana.
