E. - b: 1837 Cole Co, MO source: 1883 History of Henry Missouri , National Historical Co. - page: 665 residence: Shawnee R. E. Comer, farmer, section 25, was born in Cole County, Missouri, May 1, 1837, and was the son of Mark and Edna (Elliott) Comer. When he was about two years old his parents removed to Cooper County, where he passed his youthful days and attended the common schools. In March, 1854, he came to Henry County and engaged in farming. His farm now contains eighty acres, all in cultivation with good improvements, orchard, etc. Mr. Comer served nine months in the Missouri State Militia during the late war. He is a member of the M. E. Church. September 30, 1866, he was married to Mrs. Amanda Barlow, a daughter of Jacob McFarland.
