JEFFERSON BIOGRAPHIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== JEFFERSON, Richard - b: 1816 DE source: 1883 History of Henry Missouri , National Historical Co. - page: 692 residence: Bogard Twp Richard Jefferson, farmer, section 4, was born in the state of Delaware, November 16, 1816, being the son of Isaac and Sarah (Groves) Jefferson, natives of Delaware. The former was a soldier in the war of 1812. Richard was the oldest of a family of nine children, six of whom grew up and only one of the family ever married. When he was an infant one year old he was taken to Kentucky, where he remained until 1821, then removing to Callaway County, Missouri. They lived there and in Benton, Platte and Buchanan Counties until 1857, when Richard Jefferson came to Henry County, and engaged in farming and stock raising. His farm contains 216 acres of good land, well improved.
