Reynolds, postmaster and junior member of the prominent firm of Wall & Reynolds, general merchants at Shawnee Mound, is the son of Samuel Reynolds, Esq., whose father, John Reynolds, was a native of North Carolina. The mother of our subject, formerly Ella Fewell, came originally from North Carolina. Samuel M. was the second of a family of three children. He was reared in the county of his birth, and was educated in the Fayette College and State University. After completing his education he returned to the home farm, upon which he remained until June, 1882, when he embarked in business at Shawnee Mound.
