Wallace, M.D., physician and surgeon, at Urich, was born in Johnson County, Missouri, February 19, 1857, being the son of George W. and Margaret (Given) Wallace; his father a native of Tennessee and his mother of Missouri. Oliver was the second of a family of three children - two sons and one daughter. He was reared as a farmer's boy attending the schools of the county and the Warrensburg Normal School. In 1878 he began the study of medicine with Dr. Samuel Day, of Pittsville, with whom be remained for about eighteen months. In 1879 he entered the Physiomedical College at Cincinnati, Ohio, graduating there in March, 1881. In April of that year he located at Urich, where he began the practice of medicine, which has since been constantly increasing. During the winter of 1881-82 he returned to Cincinnati where he lectured in the college from whence he graduated. The doctor is a member of the Baptist Church and also belongs to the I. O. O. F. fraternity.
