FEWELL CEMETERY, Henry County, MO

Fewell Cemetery is located 4-1/2 miles south of Urich on Highway K, on Stewart Hill in White Oak 
Township, Section 34.  It is also known as Stewart Cemetery, Blevins Cemetery, and White Oak Cemetery.  
The first burial was March 12, 1852 of the 11-month old son of I.G. Fletcher.  This family lost three infants 
from 1852-1856.  People quit using this cemetery as others were formed, so for a long time it was forgotten.  
However, in 1971, a man remembered that when he was eight years old, his mother had been buried in a 
cemetery south of the Grand River, on a high hill on the east side about midway.  With this, plus information 
provided by another elderly man, the cemetery and the grave of Mrs. Jeff Ferguson was found again.
