ATTERBURY OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== ATTERBURY, Howard J. 1901 - 1991 Howard J. Atterbury, 90, passed away Tuesday evening, September 24, 1991 at his home near Warsaw. He was born on April 20, 1901 in Mendon, Mo., the son of Emerald and Minnie Smith Atterbury. He grew up in Sheridan County, Mo. and on August 16, 1936, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Hill. Following their marriage. they made their home in Kansas City where he worked as a mechanical engineer for U.S. Cold Storage in Kansas City until his retirement in 1959. In 1960 they moved to the Warsaw area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, in 1983, and one son, Howard Leland Atterbury in 1968, three brothers and two sisters. He is survived by three grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of the State of Washington, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Last rites were held at Reser Funeral Chapel at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 28 with Rev. Richard Singleton officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Leo Burton, Dean Burton, E. B. Kinkead and Marcel Cretel. Pallbearers were Charlie Fulton, Chad Gregory, Frank Chance, Rick Chance, Larry Burton and John Lloyd Durham.
