BAIR OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BAIR, Robert E. 1931 - 1999 Kansas City Star, Dec 5, 1999 - Robert E. Bair, 68, Warsaw, MO, passed away Friday morning, December 3, 1999, at his home in Bent Tree Harbor. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday December 6, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO; Rev. Robert Minshall officiating; burial in Clinton Memory Gardens, Clinton, MO. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bent Tree Harbor Volunteer Fire Dept., c/o Sharon Cofer, HCR 66 Box 150-AB, Warsaw, MO, 65355. Mr. Bair was born in Thornburg, IA, on June 8, 1931. He grew up in Iowa and graduated from Montezuma High School in Montezuma, IA, in the class of 1951. On September 24, 1952, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving overseas in the Korean Conflict. He was discharged on September 23, 1955. On February 17, 1956, he was united in marriage to Donna Lee Swartz in Ottumwa, IA. He worked at the Ottumwa Cemetery for ten years. He then went to school at Iowa Tech in Ottumwa, graduating with an electronics background. They moved to Kansas City, MO, in 1968, where he was employed by the A. B. Dick Company for 22 years. During his lifetime he worked on the farm and the John Morrell Meat Packing Company. He retired in 1990. Following his retirement, they moved to their lake home in Bent Tree Harbor Development near Warsaw. He was a former Cub Scout Leader in Iowa and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and he was a scout leader with Boy Scout Troop 707. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Korean War Veterans Association in Kansas City Chapter #2, and he was a member of the Gracemor Christian Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and boater.
