BARKER OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BARKER, Wilson Creed 1837 - 1917 Wilson Creed Barker - b: Sep 20 1837 - d: Dec 11 1917 - The subject of this sketch, Wilson Creed Barker, was born in Marion county, Indiana, in the year 1837, and departed this life Dec. 11th, 1917, aged 80 years, 3 months and 21 days. With his parents he moved from Indiana to Iowa, and from there to Buchanan county, this state. In 1866 he married Emma Miles. They then moved to Henry county, where they had since resided. He had suffered intensely for the last few years, but was patient, bearing it all with Christian fortitude. He was a member of the Methodist church at Teays Chapel, near his home, and had been for many years; was respected by all who knew him. He leaves his aged wife, who had been so faithful in administering to his every want; also five children and 22 grandchildren. The daughters are: Mrs. Mildred Williamson, Mrs. Daisy Rusk, Mrs. Etta Rogers and Mrs. Lula Sullivan, and one son, Joseph Barker. All were present, except Mrs. Rogers, who was prevented by sickness. Uncle Wils, as he was familiarly called will be missed by many. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the family, and especially to the aged widow. May the "peace that passeth understanding" be given her. And may his rest be complete. The funeral was held Dec. 18th at Teays Chapel, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Wolf and the remains interred in the Teays Chapel cemetery. The family wish to thank their friends and neighbors for their kindness and sympathy during this time of bereavement. ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
