BARNHART OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BARNHART, Barbara Teene BURTON 1927 - 2000 Clinton Daily Democrat, Aug 2 2000 - Barbara T. (Burton) Barnhart, 72, Clinton, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at the golden valley Hospital, Clinton. She was born October 7, 1927, in Clinton, the daughter of Ellsworth E. (Jack) Burton and Orel (Harvey) Burton. Barbara was married May 9, 1946, to Earnie L. Barnhart in Ft. Scott, Kansas. They made their home in Garland where their first child, Linda, was born. In 1947 they moved to Long Beach, California. They made their home there until 1981. During that time their second child, Lowell was born in 1949. In later years Barbara was employed at the Robert Shaw Company. In 1981 she and Earnie retired and moved back to Missouri to be close to her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, going to auctions and collecting antiques. She also enjoyed playing Bingo. Their home was always open to family and friends. She was a special aunt to all of her nieces and nephews. Barbara is survived by her husband, Earnie, and grandson, Rob Bastardi of the home; one son, Lowell Barnhart, and daughter-in-law, Cathi of Garden Grove, California; one daughter, Linda Kelso of Long Beach, California; four grandchildren, Carey Joe Chase and husband, Tony, Lynell and Larry Barnhart of Orange County, California; two great- grandsons, Charles Barnhart and Christian Edward, who brought much joy and happiness to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Gerry Anstine and husband, Leonard, Blairstown; three brothers, Harvey Burton and wife, Carol, Bob Burton and wife, Carol Ann, all of Arizona, Kay Burton and wife, Betty, Las Vegas, Nevada; two brothers-in-law, C. E. (Gene) Barnhart and wife, Doris, Kansas City, and Oral Barnhart and wife, Eva, Independence, and one sister-in-law, Darlene Miller, Oceanside, California. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her oldest brother, Jack, and two younger brothers, Howard and Donald Burton. Funeral services were held at the Vansant-Mills Chapel on Monday, July 24, at 2 p.m. with Rev. John Jakes officiating. The music was "One Day At A Tie" and "How Great Thou Art" sung by Tony Bullock with Scott Brooks as organist. Pallbearers were Dwight Anstine, Stephen Anstine, Rick Anstine, Scott Anstine, Bobby Anstine, Robert Bastardi and Larry Barnhart.
