BEGEMAN, Mary Ellen GRAY 1925 - 1991

Mary Ellen Begeman, 66, Mayview, died Saturday, July 27, 1991, at Western 
Missouri Medical Center. She was born February 11, 1925, in Odessa, the daughter 
of James Henry Gray and Rosa Lee Stapleton Gray. She married Oliver Begeman on 
October 3, 1944. He survives. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1943. She 
moved to Mayview from Odessa in 1944. She was a housewife and a farmer. She 
was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Mayview, and the Women's 
Fellowship Organization at the church. Survivors in addition to her husband, 
Oliver, of the home, are two sons, Ronnie D. Begeman and William (Bill) Begeman, 
both of Mayview; two daughters, Carolyn Bayless, Mayview, and Benita Young, 
Napoleon; five sisters, Marie Quigley, Odessa, Bertha Ashinhurst, Lexington, Helen 
Doak, Peculiar, Ethel Durnell, Lee's Summit, and Doris Haweds, Osceola, and 11 
grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Zion 
United Church of Christ, Mayview, with the Rev. John Dorhauer officiating. Burial 
was in the Odessa Cemetery under the direction of the Ralph O. Jones Funeral 
Home, Odessa. Pallbearers were Roger Dowell, Wayne Powell. James Robert Doak, 
Frank Robert Ashinhurst, Mark Ayler and C.W. Easterbrook. The family suggests 
memorial contributions to the church.
