BILLINGS OBITUARIES, Henry County, Missouri ==================================================================== BILLINGS, Zoe Elizabeth STRIEBY 1903 - 1993 Zoe Elizabeth Strieby Billings was born July 4, 1903, in Bakersfield, Oregon; the daughter of Ulysses Grant Strieby and Dora (Hunter) Strieby. She passed away July 19, 1993, at the South Park Care Center in Kansas City at the age of 90. She was born in a lean-to, delivered by her father. He was a doctor and her mother was a teacher. Being born on the Fourth of July, she was greeted every year on her birthday with a firecracker. She was married to Chester E. Billings and to this union a daughter was born. She lived in Clinton a number of years before moving to the Kansas City area in 1940. During war time, she worked in an ammunition factory, helping in the war effort. She was interested in gardening and in canning. She especially loved flowers. She was a very good neighbor and was always doing things for her neighbors. Her niece says she was the very best aunt, also. She was a member of the Blue Ridge Methodist Church, Kansas City. She loved children and for a number of years she did babysitting for the church and was called Grandma by everyone. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Billings, Leawood, Kansas; one sister, Imojean Linstrom Clark, Fayetteville, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Melanie Runge, and two great-grandsons, Kris Kelly and Bryan Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester, in 1972, and one brother, Buster. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, at the Consalus Chapel in Clinton. Reverend Don Eaton officiated. Musical selections were "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden".
